99 Names of Allah

In the Islamic faith, Allah is the one true God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. The Quran, the holy book of Islam, reveals numerous divine names of Allah.

24 ٱلْمُعِزُّ AL-MU’IZZ The Honourer, The Bestower The One who honors and bestows.
25 ٱلْمُذِلُّ AL-MUZIL The Dishonourer The One who dishonors.
26 ٱلْسَّمِيعُ AS-SAMEE’ The All-Hearing The One who hears all things.
27 ٱلْبَصِيرُ AL-BASEER The All-Seeing The One who sees all things.
28 ٱلْحَكَمُ AL-HAKAM The Judge, The Giver of Justice The One who judges and gives justice.
29 ٱلْعَدْلُ AL-‘ADL The Utterly Just The One who is utterly just.
30 ٱلْلَّطِيفُ AL-LATIF The Gentle The One who is gentle.
31 ٱلْكَرِيمُ AL-KAREEM The Generous The One who is generous.
32 ٱلْرَّقِيبُ AR-RAQEEB The Watchful The One who is watchful.
33 ٱلْمُجِيبُ AL-MUJEEB The Responsive One The One who responds to all prayers.
34 ٱلْوَاسِعُ AL-WAASI’ The All-Encompassing, the Boundless The One who is all-encompassing and boundless.
35 ٱلْحَكِيمُ AL-HAKEEM The All-Wise The One who is all-wise.
36 ٱلْوَادُودُ AL-WADOOD The Most Loving The One who is the most loving.
37 الْمَجِيدُ AL-MAJEED The Glorious, The Most Honorable The One who is the most glorious and honorable.
38 ٱلْبَاعِثُ AL-BA’ITH The Infuser of New Life The One who infuses new life.

Allah says in the Quran:

“And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them.” (Quran 7:180)

“Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.” (Quran 20:8)

“He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names.” (Quran 59:24)

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise.” (Sahih Bukhari 54:23)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd number.” (Sahih Muslim Book-48 Hadith-5)
