iOS vs. Android: Which is better for students and parents?

Introduction

Today there are a lot of companies competing in the mobile market, and it can be hard to decide which one is best. Let’s look at the differences between iOS vs. Android, what they offer students and parents, and how to decide which platform is right for your child.

iOS vs. Android: Which is better for students and parents? : A blog about the differences between the two popular mobile platforms available in the current market in 2022.

Let’s take a look at a few of the key differences between iOS and Android. First, the fact that iOS has a more secure operating system is one of its biggest advantages. It comes with built-in security features like two-step verification and fingerprint scanning, which can help keep your phone safe from unwanted access. In addition to this, it’s also easier to use than Android because Apple provides user manuals for every model of their phones so that users know how to perform basic functions on their devices without any technical issues. However, all these great features come at a price—Apple products are more expensive than other brands like Samsung or LG which offer similar services but cost less money! Finally, although Android is an open source platform (meaning anyone can create apps for it), which makes developing new software easier than ever before; there are still some limitations imposed by Google Inc., such as limiting how much data an app can transfer over Wi-fi connections per hour per device (this means no Netflix binges). This could be frustrating as users may have trouble accessing certain sites/content due

Why is this important?

Why do you want to know? Because if you’re a parent, or a student, or both—or even if you’re just someone who likes technology—you probably have an opinion on the matter. And if that’s the case, then read on! Both iOS and Android are popular operating systems used by millions of people worldwide. They’ve been installed on over 7 billion devices and have made their way into schools and homes around the world. So how do these two software giants stack up against each other?

Key takeaways

  • iOS and Android are both great options for students and parents.
  • Both platforms are equally secure, but differ in terms of customization.
  • iOS is easier to use than Android, but also more expensive.

Who uses iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices (Samsung, LG and others)

iOS devices are more popular than Android devices, but that doesn’t mean that you should use them. There are plenty of reasons why you might choose an Android device instead of an iPhone or iPad.
  • iOS devices are more expensive than their Android counterparts.
  • iOS devices have fewer options for customization than their Android counterparts.
  • The open source nature of Android makes it easier to customize your phone or tablet with apps and widgets that can make it more useful or fun to use. You can even root your device if you want access to deeper levels of customization (though this comes with risks).

The differences between iOS vs. Android

The differences between iOS vs. Android are striking. Though they’re both excellent in their own right, they have their own strengths and weaknesses that make them better suited for different kinds of people.
  • iOS is more expensive than Android, but it’s also more secure: Apple takes security seriously and has a reputation for building stronger devices overall (so long as you don’t mind only being able to use one brand). They also have robust parental controls that allow parents to limit how much time their kids spend on the device each day, block certain apps or websites from appearing in the search results, and even prevent children from downloading new apps altogether.
  • Android is cheaper than iPhone: If price is your biggest concern when buying a new phone for yourself or your child, then this could be an important factor in choosing between iOS vs. Android phones. Additionally, many models feature expandable storage via SD card slots or cloud services like Google Drive so you won’t run out of space anytime soon (though we recommend using these features sparingly).

Security and encryption on both operating systems

If you’re concerned about your data and smartphone security, iOS is the way to go. iOS is more secure than Android. It has more rigorous encryption standards, and it’s not just something the company says—it’s true. According to a study by Lookout Mobile Security, Apple devices are far less vulnerable to malware than Android devices are. But what about data privacy? Are all those apps that collect information on you as they work actually going out of their way to protect it? Can they even be trusted with it? If you’re worried about how much information your phone might be sharing behind the scenes, iOS is again the better option for both students and parents because of its stricter limits on what an app can do with user data. Because of these differences between operating systems, many people choose one over another based on their personal preferences for features or feel like one operating system works better for them in general; however, if security is one important factor in deciding which phone would suit best for students or parents looking for something that protects against potential threats then we recommend choosing Apple products over Android ones.

Which one is easier to use?

This is always a contentious subject, and the answer depends on what you’re looking for. If you want something that’s easy to learn, iOS has a distinct advantage. In fact, the iPhone was the first smartphone to ever outsell its competition — Android phones — in the United States. Apple has done an excellent job of keeping their operating system simple and intuitive while adding new features over time to make it even better. On the other hand, if you prefer functionality over simplicity (and don’t mind spending some time learning how things work), then Android may be a better option for you. While there are certainly plenty of options available on both platforms (in terms of apps), I think many people would agree that Google Play Store has more choices than Apple Store

How to set up parental controls on an iOS device

To take advantage of parental controls on an iOS device, you must first open the Settings app. Once there, you’ll need to select General and then Restrictions. At this point, if you haven’t already done so, your device will ask that you set up a passcode—make sure to do this immediately! Once inside the Restrictions menu, tap Enable Restrictions. You’ll now be asked to enter a passcode and create a new passcode for future access. Enter this information and save it for future use (you won’t have access again without it). Now that your restrictions are enabled, let’s take a look at what they do:
  • First go into Allowed Content by tapping Edit under Allowed Content in the bottom right corner of your screen. This will bring up several different categories where you can place restrictions on what apps or content can be accessed while using your device (such as limiting games or video streaming only during certain times of day). After clicking Edit under each category title (websites/social networks/etc.), you can select each type individually within its own subcategory such as “games” or “video streaming services” if available so that changes made here will override all others across all categories at once if necessary (useful when giving someone else temporary access but not wanting them messing around with other areas).

How to set up parental controls on an Android device

Parental controls for Android devices can be set up in a number of different ways. For example:
  • You can use the built-in parental controls to control which apps your child uses and when they’re allowed to use them.
  • You can create a Google Family link that allows you to manage your child’s device through an online dashboard and/or an app on your own phone or tablet.
  • There are also a number of third-party apps available for parental control, including Norton Family Premier, Qustodio Parental Control and FamiSafe Monitor.

How to decide which device is right for your child

When choosing a device for your child, it’s important to consider their maturity level and how they will use the device. For example, if they are just learning how to use technology and access information online, an Android phone may be more appropriate. If they are using their phone as a way to keep in touch with friends and family, then an iPhone might be better suited for them. If you want your child to learn about responsible technology use or how technology can benefit their learning environment—for example: understanding how important it is not to give out personal information online or that research needs accurate citations—then I would recommend an Android device over an iPhone because of its flexibility with apps such as Google Maps and Gmail which have educational features built into them.

Conclusion

When it comes to deciding on a mobile platform, we recommend doing your research. You want to make sure that whichever one you choose will be safe and secure for your child. We hope this article has provided some helpful information on the two most popular operating systems available today!

7 Awesome Hobbies That Will Teach You The Art Of Having Fun

Introduction

Life is short, and you should always be looking for new ways of having fun in life. But sometimes, it can feel like there’s nothing left to learn. The good news? Plenty of courses will teach you how to do all kinds of cool things, from surfing to cooking and everything in between! Here are seven awesome courses that’ll help you find your inner child—and maybe even make a few friends along the way:

Learn how to surf

Learn how to surf in a safe environment Surfing is one of the coolest sports out there, and it’s also one that can be extremely dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. Many things can go wrong when surfing, from getting caught in a rip current to being attacked by sharks. However, you can also take some simple steps to stay safe while learning how to surf for the first time. I’ll teach you everything about this exciting activity in this course!
  • First, don’t wear loose or tight-fitting if possible (like jeans). If loose clothing gets caught underwater, it could cause serious injury—and we definitely don’t want that! Plus, if tight clothing gets pulled off by waves, then it will make swimming very difficult because now all those clothes are floating around underwater, weighing down your body, which means having them come back up will also be difficult as well so I suggest staying away from both types completely; instead opt for shorts with no pockets since they won’t catch onto anything while still providing comfortability through minimalism.*

Learn how to play poker

Poker is a fun and strategic game that, when played correctly, can be very profitable. It’s also a great way to learn about people as well as improve your understanding of strategy by playing against some of the best players in the world. In addition to being fun and profitable, poker is one of the best ways to make friends because you’re naturally going to spend time with other people who play poker often (or at least watch it on TV).

Learn how to make cocktails

Making cocktails is a good skill to have. It will impress your friends, family and partner in equal measure. The best part is that it’s not difficult at all! Plus, once you’ve learned the art of mixing drinks, you’ll never be bored again when hanging out with people who enjoy alcoholic beverages. Many cocktail courses are available online if you don’t have time for an evening class or wish to learn at home (or even on vacation). These courses will teach you everything from basic rules about alcohol types and proportions to more advanced bartending techniques like making homemade bitters or infusing liquors with herbs. All in all many valuable lessons can be gleaned from learning how to mix cocktails—not least among them is how much fun they are!

Learn how to DJ

If you’re interested in DJing, it’s essential to understand that there are many different ways to do it. You can spend your time practising the craft and learning how to work the turntables, but if you want to be good at DJing, that’s just part of the equation. The other side of the coin is figuring out what you want from all this. One thing is sure: becoming a great DJ takes time and dedication—but it also takes knowing who you are as an artist and how best to express yourself through music. Once you figure out how much money (or lack thereof) matters when making music, all other things fall into place nicely!

Learn how to cook

If you’re looking to learn how to cook, we have got a few recommendations. The first is Cooking with Kids, which teaches children and parents how to create delicious dishes. The second is a course called How To Sous Vide: Mastering the Art of Cooking Perfectly [Sous Vide] Food, which focuses on sous vide cooking—an easy way of cooking food that involves sealing it in plastic bags and then submerging those bags in hot water (or sometimes oil). You’ll learn everything from basic meat preparation techniques to advanced methods of cooking vegetables, fish and even desserts! And finally, we have Great Gourmet Recipes: A Beginner’s Guide To Creating Your Own Kitchen Magic with Chef Michael O’Neil as your instructor. This class teaches students how they can make delicious meals using common ingredients found at any grocery store or farmer’s market right now!

Learn how to write a novel

Writing a novel is a great way to learn how to have fun. It’s also one of the most rewarding things you can ever do, no matter how many people say it’s not possible. As a writer, you are in charge of your own destiny and free to write whatever stories you want, how ever often and wherever you want them set. You can use different voices for each character or write from multiple perspectives at once, or even write about yourself in third person! The possibilities are endless! And I’m sure if it wasn’t for this course on learning how to have fun writing novels then I would never have discovered such an incredible talent within myself.

Learn how to make your own beer

Beer is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and there’s a reason for that. It’s delicious! You can learn how to make your own beer at home with Craft A Brew Home Brewing Kit, which will teach you how to write recipes, plan out your brew days, and experiment with different kinds of hops and malts. If you’re looking for an even more hands-on experience with beer making, try Beer Making 101: How To Make Craft Beer At Home by The Brewer’s Apprentice. This book covers everything from ingredients to equipment to recipes—and ends with 25 different beers that are fun enough for beginners but still complex enough for seasoned pros!

You should always be on the lookout for new ways of having fun in life.

Having fun is something that everyone should be good at. If you are having fun, then you are living your life to the fullest and enjoying what it has to offer. For example, if you have never tried ice skating before and are afraid to fall over while on the ice, then sign up for a lesson with a professional instructor at an Ice Skating Rink that offers lessons for beginners. Once you have learned how to skate safely on the ice, then go out and play Ping Pong or Table Tennis with your friends or family members!

Conclusion

It’s not always easy to find ways to have fun, but I hope this list has given you some ideas. Remember: if you’re stuck on something, keep trying! Never give up on your dreams and goals. Keep in mind that nothing is impossible if we work hard enough at it—and remember how good it feels when we finally achieve them

Introduction

Believe it or not, holiday season is approaching. And while you’re probably already dreaming of your plans for the end of year vacation, you might be stressed out by the thought of how much work it takes to prepare and plan. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to avoid jumping into a full-on panic attack this holiday season. Here are some helpful tips:

Get Organized.

Getting organized is the key to a stress-free holiday season. One of the best ways to do this is by creating a list of what you need to do and then prioritizing it. This will help make sure that you don’t feel overwhelmed when December rolls around, because you’ll know exactly what needs doing and when it needs doing.

If you’re not sure where to start or if your schedule has been particularly busy recently, try making a short list of all the tasks that need completing before Christmas arrives: things like buying presents, wrapping presents and preparing food for Christmas Day (or any other family celebrations). Then break each one down into smaller chunks so that they’re easier to manage—for example, buying presents could involve thinking about what people want; choosing gifts based on budgets; going shopping; wrapping them up nicely; writing cards etc.”

Delegate.

Ask for help. It may seem daunting to ask others to help you with your holiday preparations, but it will be worth it in the end! You can’t do everything on your own and you don’t want to miss out on everything this holiday season because you’re too stressed out over the preparations. If you have friends or family that live nearby, ask them if they could come over a few times throughout December and help out with some of the tasks. If anyone has volunteered at their church before, don’t be afraid to ask them for assistance as well—they might even have a spare room where everyone can stay! And if there aren’t any churches nearby? Donate through one of their charitable organizations instead of shopping at Target and Wal-Mart (which also supports those companies by giving them money).

You should also reach out into your community by asking people if they need any more help cooking meals or making toys for disadvantaged children who may not get presents from Santa Claus this year due to financial hardship caused by unjust tax policies passed by Congress; maybe even offer services like buying groceries online when others cannot make it into town because of bad weather conditions caused by global warming deniers who refuse education programs designed specifically towards adults because they think schools are “too liberal.”

Focus on the things that matter most to you and your family.

The holidays can be a stressful time. You may feel pressure to spend money, buy presents for everyone you know and attend holiday parties on the regular. But don’t get caught up in all of these trappings. Instead of worrying about what other people are doing, focus on what matters most to you and your family. Do what brings you joy during this season of giving and sharing!

Make Time for Yourself.

Making time for yourself, whether it’s through meditation or going for a run, is essential to having a happy holiday season. Take some time out of each day to do the things you enjoy and de-stress by doing so.

  • Find ways to relax:
  • Take a bath or shower with relaxing scents like lavender and eucalyptus oils (or try our Relaxing Aromatherapy Kit!)
  • Try reading in bed while sipping on your favorite tea (try one of these delicious blends!).
  • Get cozy with a hot cup of cocoa topped with whipped cream and mini marshmallows (not just for kids).

Be Creative With Gift Ideas.

It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle, especially if you are hosting a large family gathering. But don’t let that stress level rise! The best way to avoid stress is by staying organized.

  • Make a list of all the people you need to buy for. This includes your immediate family, extended family members, close friends and acquaintances who have become good friends over time.
  • Think about what they want or need from you as a gift giver throughout the year – maybe it’s something small like flowers once every few months or something bigger like an annual trip somewhere fun (or just going out together). Maybe they have their own traditions that don’t involve receiving gifts – why not join in on those instead?
  • Don’t forget about yourself! If you can afford it then splurge on yourself with something nice too! It doesn’t have to be expensive but it should make YOU feel good while wearing/using/looking at whatever item(s) said splurge consists of!”

Take care of YOU during the holidays.

Now that you’ve taken the time to think about how your family will be affected by the holidays, let’s turn our attention back to YOU.

For many of us, this is a time of year when we feel compelled to push ourselves to their very limits. We go above and beyond—that’s what it means to do things as if for “the greater good.” But remember: The greater good starts with you! You can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first. Take some time each day (or better yet, every day) to make sure that everything is okay in your world: mental health; physical health; emotional health–all these things need tending so they can continue working properly without any stress or strain on them while they are under such an intense workload during the holidays.

If taking care of yourself doesn’t fit into your schedule right now then try using some techniques like yoga, meditation or even just deep breathing exercises; these simple exercises can help relieve stress while also providing numerous other benefits such as improved mental clarity (which will come in handy when it comes time for gift shopping), reduced anxiety levels and even decreased blood pressure levels which helps reduce chances against heart disease later down the line when life gets really busy again after Christmas ends up being over!”

Eat well and stay active.

Eat well and stay active. It’s important to eat at regular times and enjoy a healthy, balanced diet throughout the holidays. Try not to miss meals and make sure you always have snacks available when you need them.

If you’re looking for ways to avoid unhealthy food during the holidays, consider visiting an Advent calendar that has 24 small portions of healthy treats instead of chocolate! If this sounds like a good option for you then visit our website: www(dot)holidaysandhome(dot)com/advent-calendars/

Don’t stress out the holidays, it is the most wonderful time of year!

This season, it’s important to remember that you are a gift to the world. Your gifts have the power to lift up people and make this world a better place!

Here are some tips for making sure your holiday is joyful and stress-free:

  • Plan ahead for what you need to do so that there aren’t any surprises come Christmas morning.
  • Make time for yourself and focus on what matters most, which is YOU!
  • Do something creative with your gift ideas like making homemade gifts or writing cards instead of buying them from stores (these can be more meaningful than store bought).
  • Eat well and stay active during the holidays so that you can enjoy yourself without worrying about being sick later down the road.

Conclusion

We hope you’re feeling like a stress-free holiday season is within reach. Now that you’ve got a solid plan, it’s time to put it into action and start enjoying your holidays again! The only thing left to do is have a very happy holiday season and New Year!

How do I improve my English? How some international students improved their English

Introduction

If you are an international student you may know that learning English is very important. Here are some tips how to improve your English.

Students seeking advice for improving their English skills had the following suggestions.

When you’re trying to improve your English, it’s important to have a positive attitude. A positive attitude will help you be more motivated and keep you going when things get hard. Students who have improved their English skills said the following:
  • Practice with a friend
  • Watch videos and listen to podcasts in English
  • Study a little every day
  • Review as you go along

1. Join an English club or group

Joining an English club or group is a great way to learn new words and expressions, practice your English, make friends and meet people from different cultures. Some clubs are only for students of a specific university while others are open to everyone. If you don’t know where to start looking, ask at the university’s international office or student services if they can recommend any clubs that might be worth joining. You should also make sure that you know the rules of each club before joining so that you don’t get into any trouble later on!

2. Practice with a friend

If you have a friend who is more advanced than you, this can help you to improve your English. The same goes for someone who is at your level of English and also for someone that is lower than yours. For example, if you are already confident in speaking but want to improve writing, then practice with someone who writes better than you do. A native speaker of the language always teaches best how native speakers use their own language, so if possible, find one! Of course it’s not always easy or possible to find a native speaker for free when studying abroad as an international student (or even as an expat), but if there are opportunities and resources available try them out! It might be very helpful in improving my spoken English if I could speak with native speakers over Skype or other video platforms on regular basis – either individually or in small groups (English learners). This would give me the opportunity to practice my listening skills while correcting errors made by myself and others during conversation while also allowing us all time afterwards where we could exchange feedback on what worked well versus what didn’t work well enough so that each person left feeling satisfied with their contribution towards overall success during our next session together.”

3. Watch videos and listen to podcasts in English

  • Watch videos and listen to podcasts in English.
  • Watch short videos and listen to podcasts.
  • Watch videos and listen to podcasts on topics that interest you.
  • Watch videos and listen to podcasts that are at your level, then try watching ones that are at a higher level (this will help you understand what native speakers say).

4. Study a little every day

Consistency is key to language learning. It’s better to study little everyday than a lot once in a while. The brain needs time to absorb new information, so the more you practice, the better your memory will be (and it’s easier to remember what you learned if it’s fresh). As an international student, you’re probably not used to studying every day—in fact, some of your friends might not even have been used to it before they came here! If this is true for them too, then they may also find themselves struggling with their schoolwork. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with them; in fact it shows how smart they are! We all need time and patience when we’re learning something new (and especially something as complex as English).

5. Review as you go along

Review as you go along. When you learn a new word, write it down and add it to your vocab list. Review your vocabulary list regularly so that you can keep track of what needs the most work. Check spelling and grammar in what you write, even if it’s just for practice. Remember that the more practice with English, the better! Review old notes and try to answer them again after some time has passed (a week or two). This way, not only do you review what was learned previously but also get a chance at learning something new or improving at something already known about English language learning!

6. Have a positive attitude

The last step to improving your English is to have a positive attitude. A positive attitude helps you learn more effectively and enjoy the process of learning more! It is important to be positive about your own learning process, but it is equally important to avoid negative thoughts about others, including yourself. If you can keep this in mind while studying, your time spent studying will be much more effective and enjoyable! To have a positive attitude when you are learning English:
  • Stay motivated and committed by setting goals for yourself that are challenging but achievable. By setting goals for yourself (like passing an exam), you’ll know what exactly needs improvement and what areas of study need focus on next week/month/year etc.. This will help motivate you through long periods of study as well as short ones (such as preparing for an upcoming test).
  • Be aware of how far along with progress has been made so far – this lets us see how much we’ve learned since starting our journey!
To stay motivated even when not actively studying or preparing for tests:

Learning another language is not easy but these tips will help you get there

Learning another language is not easy but these tips will help you get there! Just to be clear, this post is intended for those who are learning English as a second language. If you’re an English native speaker, then you probably have nothing to worry about!
  • Don’t give up. There’s no such thing as perfect; we all make mistakes and there will always be something new to learn, so don’t beat yourself up over it and just keep trying! The more you practice speaking in English, the better your pronunciation will become (with practice).
  • Don’t worry about making mistakes — everyone does! It’s perfectly fine if you forget how to say something or mispronounce a word sometimes because everyone makes mistakes when they speak another language (and even if they don’t). Just try your best and don’t let embarrassment get in the way of expressing yourself through language; if someone doesn’t understand what you’re saying tell them politely what word(s) might help clarify what it was that confused them so that way next time around things will go smoothly for sure without any confusion whatsoever 🙂 This also goes back to tip number one above where I said don’t give up – remember that everybody makes mistakes even native speakers do too so there really isn’t any reason why not try again with confidence knowing full well there won’t be any consequences.”

Conclusion

Thanks for checking out this article on how to improve your English! We hope that you found some helpful tips and tricks here to improve your language skills.
